Apple Cider Vinegar Weed Detox (Does it Work for THC Detox?)
Weed smokers can probably tell you a dozen different ways to detox from the drug, whether it’s for a drug test, to quit completely or just to take a break for a short while. However, one of the most consistently popular weed detox routes features just one product – apple cider vinegar. What is it about this basic, everyday item that makes it top the charts for body detoxes; and can it really help rid your system of weed?
Detoxing from weed
Tetrahydrocannabinol [THC] is the ingredient in weed that makes you high, and like that pesky neighbor at a house party, once invited in it tends to hang around for much longer than you expect it to. Some parts of the THC break down quite quickly, and are eventually expelled from the body through urine, but other parts find a comfy home in your body’s fatty tissue, where they hang around for a while before eventually being expelled.
Why choose an apple cider vinegar weed detox
Well known for having properties which help people lose weight, apple cider vinegar is a solid, natural way to detox from weed as it uses the same principles for both outcomes. It is made from fermented apples, which in turn contain an ingredient called pectin – known as a fat busting compound. The liquid vinegar doesn’t enter the bloodstream, instead it stays in the gut and wraps itself around fat cells to stop them becoming active. Consequently existing fat cells begin to break down faster too, taking the stored THC with them down the toilet.
Apple cider vinegar cranks up your metabolism, which in turn burns fat faster, an important factor in cleansing those fat cells of THC traces. It is also packed with B, C and A vitamins it helps keep your body well balanced during this intensive detox period.
Is all apple cider vinegar okay to use?
If possible choose an organic version, made by brand name with a reputation for using good quality produce. Definitely choose vinegar made with the ‘mother’, a cloudy substance which is excellent for boosting your health. This occurs naturally while the vinegar is fermenting, but some brands filter it out – so avoid completely clear apple cider vinegars for that reason.
Get the right dose
Once a day simply mix a couple of tablespoons with a glass of water and drink it quite quickly, followed by a second glass of plain water. Alternatively add it to another drink if that’s appropriate. As vinegar is acidic it is not recommended you drink it neat, or skip the second glass of water.
Is just drinking apple cider vinegar enough?
It could be, but to be extra safe it’s best to incorporate at least a few other detox points into your plan, such as drinking plenty of water to flush the system out, resting or sleeping as close to normal patterns as you can, exercising, and of course not using weed at all.
